Conscious Rap Part II

I agree with a few points that you make. Conscious rap, gangsta rap, dance rap, political rap...these are all products of the old divide and conquer technique that has been effect against african americans since "willy lench". What it means is that I accept "this" part of black people's culture but am repulsed by "that". It allows the listener to reinforce "image" of the black man that he already believes in. I would be considered a "conscious" rapper by the mainstream listener yet I banged Wu, Snoop first album, red man for sure. I accept all of what is "black" and do not discriminate by mythical catagories. The Goal is to veil us from choosing what is good and what is garbage. There are good "gangsta" artists and there are Garage ones. This goes for all so called branches of hiphop. I like what is good, and create the music that best represents me.
