Wrong-Way McCain

When you refer to the economy's 'spectacular recovery,' are you referring to the near-trillion dollar deficit that the Bush administration is responsible for, in part because of his tax cuts which you praise? Or are you referring to the quadrupling of gas prices since he took office? Or perhaps it's his focus and protection of old industry such as oil, ignoring new technology and energy (read: new economy). Or perhaps it is his shrewd foreign policies such as being blindsided by the election of a terrorist government in Palistine? Or the attack on Georgia? Or his completely ignoring reports that stated, 'Bin-Laden set to strike on US soil.' What about his handling of Katrina and the aftermath? You praise the surge in Iraq - but what about the five years prior? Read between the lines when Obama praises the surge. Bush's war strategy prior to that has been a disaster. Since Bush took office the median wage has lagged behind overall economic growth. He has instituted a tax code that has become hideously biased in favor of the rich; a national debt that has grown 70 percent, a swelling cascade of mortgage defaults; a record $850 billion trade deficit; oil prices that are higher than they have ever been; and a dollar so weak that for an American to buy a cup of coffee in London or Paris—or even the Yukon—becomes a venture in high finance. This must be Bush's 'clear grasp' on domestic and foreign policy to which you are referring. McCain is the wrong way indeed, but not for running away from President Bush.
