The expansion of Russian and Chinese sea power into our Western Hemisphere only highlights the need for modernizing and building out naval fleet to 330 ships, the post Cold-war level mandated by Reagan versus the 280 ships and declining that we have now. Congress and this administration are neglecting our Navy to their peril. US Naval sea power has always guaranteed the peace and been a symbol of freedom around the world and to not build and maintain this sea power is to invite control of the seas by the Russians and Chinese and the loss of freedom and democracy.
