Today. Like any other day. 3,000 men and women died. They woke up, just like you and me, got dressed, kissed someone goodbye, and never came back. Some were Firemen, police, mothers, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters. It is not a matter of patriotism to remember this day. It is a matter of humanity. To forget this day, and the horrible gut wrenching pain that came from just any other normal day, is to be comforted by the idea that someday, you might wake up, get dressed, kiss someone goodbye, and never see them again alive. It doesn't matter who did it anymore, there are plenty of theories, both for terrorism, and for the U.S. Government's ploy to misdirect the American people from other venues unseen and unchallenged. What matters is that the death that was caused by this heartless act, destroyed all of us. We have since rebuilt, buildings can be remade, but lives cannot be. This for us who were there, or who witnessed it first hand, or on the television wept harder for humanity than we've ever wept for anyone outside of our friendship and family circles..This was our Pearl Harbor. The difference is that the focus for today is to remember those who died that day, on just another ordinary day like today.. tomorrow..or the next day.. not to kill the bastards who did it. It is a day of deep reflection and prayer for some, and gleaming rekindling of hatred for others. Regardless of where your heart falls in this, know and understand the deeper meaning. ALL life is precious, regardless of who it is, and death gives no quarter for the living. If you should ever find yourself leaving for work, remember that it is just another ordinary day.. and horrible things can happen on ordinary days, and kiss someone extra long before you go, and pray that it stays ordinary for you. Give thanks to who you give thanks to, and remember that someone mourns today for 3,000 people, and they weep for the loss of it all. God bless you all, and I pray your ordinary days stay that way.
