I don't blame Bush and the other officials for interjecting their television presence, whether needed or not. They got thoroughly screwed by relying on many locals to do their part during Katrina (though, the Federal story was a sad one), and the expectations this time around demanded a show of Federal voices -- even if they were cosmetic or extraneous.
