This is why the diet that is recommended in order to truly help the environment is a vegan diet, which contains no dairy products and hence produces fewer greenhouse gases than a diet that simply contains no meat. In the bargain, it's also a healthier one than a diet rich in dairy products, which misses the point of helping the environment entirely. It's like my fishchickatarian friend, who insists she won't eat red meat because "I'm a vegetarian!"
