There is, and always has been, racism--in all parts of the world, much more so than in America, in many parts of the world. Another supreme misconception is that "most black people in America" either live in poverty, or are at least deprived of the opportunities accorded whites. I have lived in six states--most of them in the "South"--and many more cities, and that simply is not true. Perpetuation of that perception, that belief, only aggravates overall conditions, and relations between African Americans and other colour/ethnic groups. One does not hear endless complaints from the many Asian Americans, East Indian Americans, or any other group who has suffered from discrimination. Even if African Americans were as poorly off as their own "leaders," leftist academia, the media, and Democrats tell them they are, it is the victim mentality that causes stagnation in an individual, or in a group. There are many tens, scores, of thousands of white Americans living in what is categorised by the government as the "poverty level," and none of them who blames their condition on "the rich," or anyone else, whether individual or group, will ever better themselves.
