Bill Donaldson (Wall St's DLJ founder) appointed to SEC by Clinton. Getting rid of the 12 to 1 capital requirement seems to reward five dealers for aidding Clinton. But hell the way world works in DC. Accelerate the tax deduction associated with home mortgages. Interest on a $250 mortgage is over $250K over thirty years; make it available to troubled mortgages immediately. When used up the tax deductions ends and the Treasury gets repaid. Rules to protect Treasury need to be put in place to insure repayment. Help goes to the tax payer rather than lobbyist sponsored Corporations.
