NYC Pension Funds Lose on Lehman, AIG

Let's see. We private-sector taxpayers are struggling to pay our bills and keep gas in our tanks. A paltry few of us still get a pension. And, with the latest economic fallout, it's become virtually certain our Social Security benefits will be cut and retirement age will be raised to 70. But WE are expected to pony up to pay public workers pensions we can't even dream of? WE have to pay more taxes into the pension fund they don't have to pay into?! I just finished today's NYT article about the Long Island railroad. Outrageous! How 'bout that couple, in their 50's, retired and on disability taking home a cool $290,000 a year! THAT is what the governor thinks WE will pay for?! He's got another think coming.
