Last years HR25/S25 proposed doing away with all income based taxes on indivivuals and corporations and replacing them with a 23% embedded sales tax on all new goods and services.
Part of this bill provided a prebate based on the amount of tax necessary for a person to spend at the poverty level making the poor legal individuals not have to pay at the same rate as the rich (Illegals would not get the prebate).
This would accomplish several things such as taxcing all imported new goods at the same rate as domestic goods making the field more level.
Making investing tax free so more people would be saving.
Allowing workers to have an immediate increase in wages by allowing them to take home all of their income, tax free until they purchased new goods or services.
Increasing the tax base to include all individuals in the United States (even illegals) and minimizing tax fraud.
