For Love of a Ballpark

When I watched the news last night and heard about the planned destruction of Yankee stadium I was stunned. I live in Kentucky and I'm originally from Chicago. I'm still a Sox and Cubs fan at heart, but you cannot help but have a deep respect and fondness for the historical significance of Yankee Stadium and the legends that have played there. Cobb, Ruth, DiMaggio, and others too numerous to mention. All that will be lost. It was bad enough when the lights went up at Wrigley Field, and I felt the same way when they tore down Comiskey Park, but this is much, much worse. Something irreplaceable will be lost forever. Will the Game go on? Of course it will. But it just will not be the same.
