Queens Hospital Makes Last-Ditch Effort To Save Itself

Parkway Hospital is a necessary and vital heath care facility in Queens. I, my family and friends received the best personal care that only they could provide, especially in an emergency. Everyone is attended to immediately and the patient's care is excellent. The hospitals in Queens are over-crowded as it is and the larger ones do not take the time to listen, while giving the intensive treatment sometimes necessary. Parkway is different, efficient and work hard for the patient's needs. It frightens me to hear that it may close and the idea of being treated elsewhere where you are viewed as just another number and ignored is terrifying! Bigger hospitals are NOT the answer! I pray that Parkway remains open. They save many lives and should be credited. Besides the over-all picture, others should realize the shortage of hospital bed-space, traveling time to a hospital during an emergency as well as immediate treatment needed. The staff is wonderful and their morale is great, dealing with patients. The people making the decision to close it would think otherwise if it effected themselves, family and friends. This is a dangerous move for Queens and should be reconsidered for help. Parkway needs to stay open!
