My take Mr. Halkin... Sorry to rain on your parade Mr. Halkin. Most of what you have written makes excellent sense. But... If the Air Force had used Napalm which percolate into bunkers instead of using bazookas and canons you would not have had the opportunity to write that part of the quasi unsuccessful Israeli second Lebanon War. The fact that the chief of staff Dan Halutz was this time chosen from the Air Force gave the impression that the war on the ground is out of his realm. Israel did not use Napalm because of the intertwining of the Lebanese civilian population with Hizballah put there on purpose to limit Israeli fire and Israel was thus threatened to use such a deterrent lest it be judged as criminal on the court of world opinion. Napalm would have done the trick if the nomenclature Steel Balls was opted by Olmert and Co instead of his second in command. Olmert is history now as Lame duck President Bush is involved with the American failing economy. Olmert has to be restrained and his decisions curtailed. I hope that elections are implemented soon in Israel as Kadima fails to form a Government. HBendor@aol.com
