Obama just doesn't 'get it', as he likes to say. Harry Reid asked John McCain to come to Washington to help broker negotiations, then retracted the request. It looks like a Presidential election sting from where I stand. Obama doesn't 'get it' that the negotiations do need McCain and don't need himself. Who needs a President who doesn't 'get it'?
