Mets Fans Should Embrace the Suffering

Submitted by Matt Mailman, Sep 29, 2008 03:35

I am exactly the mets fan described in this article, and rather than jumping out my apartment window I have decided to complain. The fact that Omar was offered a four year extension was a slap in the face to every mets fan who has watched one dissapointing loss after another at the hands of a bullpen Nationals fans don't deserve is just another embarassment to mets fans everywhere. This is for mets fans everywhere who are as inebreated as I am after yet another last day of the season collapses. It is absolutely astonishing that for a team general manager to have a virtually unlimited budget and build a team with a bullphen that is as embarassing as ours is ludicris. In a perfect, or even sensible world, Omar would be gone and Jerry Manuel would be returning with a GM backing him that would be willing to sign a bullpen competent enough to not blow 29 saves. Luis Castillo and every other underachieving met player need to get out of town before we come after those bastards with torches and pitchforks. Shea is gone, but our misery is not.... its about time the wilpons hire a real GM and give credit where credit is due, for instance to Jerry Manuel
