While Mr. Novak is correct that citizens should not divorce themselves from religious-based ethics and principles, they must realize they must justify those ethics and principles in a secular fashion when speaking in a secular arena. The No Religious Test clause of Article Six and disestablishmentarian requirement of the First Amendment mandate that the American Government should be kept as such an arena.
