Thanks for such a balanced view. Its refreshing. It seems, however, that what is missing is an evaluation of experience...and here we actually have a history for Mr. Obama. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Annenberg_Challenge Mr. Obama was the Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge which spent $160,000,000 in the Chicago market and " appears to have failed to achieve any of its stated, measurable educational goals. For example, a comprehensive study by the Consortium on Chicago School Research concludes: "Results suggest that among the schools it supported, the Challenge had little impact on school improvement and student outcomes, with no statistically significant differences between Annenberg and non-Annenberg schools in rates of achievement gain, classroom behavior, student self-efficacy, and social competence."[5] While much has been made of the unsavory people with whom he worked on this project, more critical to me is the waste of funds on what is certainly a noble cause. How can we choose this man as "Educator in Chief"?
