Growing up in New York, we had several broadsheets and tabloids to choose from. One by one, they left the scene, or, in the case of the Times, became an unreliable source for news. The Sun was not only necessary, it was a breath of fresh air. A counterpunch to those whose idea of political argument was on whether President Bush more resembled a chimp or Adolf Hitler. To be sure, its passing may be due as much to the decline of the dead tree news source as to the almost total lack of political diversity in New York. Well done, Sun. I will miss you.
