What an awful season. First, the Yankees folded. Then the banks. Then the Mets. Then the stock market. And now the Sun. But of these disasters the worst by far is the loss of the Sun. You were the only newspaper on both sides of the Atlantic that had the intelligence, the guts, and the knowledge to make sense of our complicated political, cultural, and financial worlds. You were a welcome beacon of light on the dark horizon when you first appeared and you are now the fading rays of a bright clear sun that may never appear again. Good luck and Godspeed to all of you. And many, many thanks for a job well done.
