Ron Paul represented real "change" and was the real "maverick" in the 2008 elections. Unfortunately, he did not make friends with Fox News, which has incredible sway on conservative thought in this country. Sadly, too, we have way too many stupid Americans who want a handome (Romney), heroic (McCain), or cool (Obama) person in charge, instead of a true statesman like Paul. The naysayers--"I like him, but he hasn't got a chance"--along with the antagonists who branded him a "kook" also made it incredibly difficult. Hopefully, a war-weary, economically devastated populace will be more receptive to Paul in 2012. By the way, it would make a lot more sense having him in charge and mentoring Palin. She's got great potential and could learn a lot from Ron Paul.
