Science Obviates Politics

An embryo about to be discarded by a fertilty clinic is apparently more sacred to Bush than the life of an Iraqi child, despite the fact that said embryo is as unlikely to result in a human life as is a dead epithelial cell shed by normal processes.

The main difference is that protecting the defunct embryo delivers a constituency of well-meaning, but mindless voters who support this administration.

Pre-emptive military action, regime change, slaughterhouse-style capital punishment, prisons swelling with American citizens, federal HIV programs without condoms are just some of the fruits of the insidious religious fundamentalism which now infects our government..

Never before has any president provoked so many protestations from concerned scientists about his tendency to ignore any empiriical evidence which conflicts with his policies.
