Genius of the WPA

Roosevelt's clever move in initiating the WPA was to not only employ America's creative sector, but to give the rest of the Nation a continuing sence of normalcy during the pits of the Depression. The arts which we consume visually, and audibly, invigorate the human brain and gets our endorphins moving. This internal movement not only serves as a pick-me-up but also created a grass roots industry which blossomed. When artists know there is a consumer, they will produce.
