Brave Badillo

Herman Badillo continues to be the only Puerto Rican in NYC to exhibit leadership and courage. He is absolutely correct in his assessments, and calls for people to aspire to higher standards of achievement. Doubtless, others have already made the comparison between what he is experiencing for stating his views, and what Bill Cosby endured as a result of his very similar observations. I wish there were more men and women like Herman Badillo--Certainly, as I was growing up, he was the role model for me and so many of my generation. I only hope that my sons, will seek to emulate him and his shining example. As for the Bronx Democratic Party Leader, I'd be indeed interested in knowing what legislation--what policies--and what programs he ever created while serving for so many years as a member of the NYC Council and for the past several years as a member of the State Assembly. Actually I know the answer: 0. In fact, if one takes the entire Rivera family currently occupying elected and appointed jobs in the City and State, there is only one Bill that comes to mind, and it was passed by Joel Rivera, the City Council's now-Majority Whip--that was when he managed to name a street in the Bronx after some rapper named Fat Joe. Wow, now that is educational!
