Maloney Wins Support of ACLU For Regulation of Abortion Ads

Submitted by Peggy Fabre, Jan 11, 2007 12:12

What is the big hoopla about? Is the issue more about truth in advertising (full disclosures) or about threat? First of all I would like to comment that most ads, billboards, business signs, and commercials provided to the consumer are not 100% truthful or fully disclosures everything. I see it everyday. If you ask the average American who is Planned Parenthood and what do they promote; not everyone would know. How many unsuspecting women walk into Planned Parenthood thinking that the counselors there are there to help them through their unexpected parenthood not get rid of it? The fact is that Planned Parenthood and Pro-Abortion proponenents fear that these vulnerable women will hear the truth abortion. They fear that these women will make the choice to carry the baby to term and not abort. In crisis pregnancy centers, women are given all the physical and emotional facts and the effects of having an abortion. They are given more support, understanding and hope for both her baby and her future. If Planned Parenthood is providing the woman in crisis with all the facts and all the solutions including keeping the baby or adoption then why would they be concerned about A Crisis Pregnancy Center that provides everything that they supposedly provide. The only difference is that Planned Parenthood emphasizes and advocates getting rid of the pregnancy through abortion as the first solution and happily refers her to an abortionists while the Crisis Pregnancy Centers emphasizes and advocates life by providing emotional support, encouragement and hope for a better future by choosing life over abortion and does not offer referrals. Just because the Crisis Pregnancy Center chooses not to offer referrals does not mean they do not provide the "customer" with all the information they need to make a choice.
