The Gerstein Disclosures

Submitted by Ezekiel Kaye, Jan 11, 2007 16:48

Notice how suddenly the tone of reporting changed when the Dems took over Congress last week? Good economic news isn't immediately spun into sounding like bad news, and having convicted felons running Congressional committees is now seen as a sign of good leadership. And when a Dem is President, use of the military to topple a dictator and protect peace in the country is a noble, humanitarian thing.

Disclosures by the Left are "whistle blowing", while disclosures by the Right are "leaks". If Dubya looks at citizens' international-phone-call records to spot terrorists, it's an illegal intrusion; but if Hillary pores over citizens' private FBI files to spot political enemies, it's perfectly okay. If Cheney wants to redact classified documents to protect ongoing military operations, it's a coverup; but when Sandy Berger is caught stealing and destroying classified documents to protect the perceived legacy of the Clintons, it's just a mistake.

We seem powerless to stop this, folks. So just smile, grit your teeth, bend over, and "think happy thoughts" -- it'll all be over before we know what hit us...
