One can only draw sadness from this article. The way this country handicaps themselves from within is just pathetic. I only fear that this form of totallitarian religious state is the fate we all must suffer if we allow the religious zealots to control our politics. We should be quick to squash the legislation that makes any clear connection between the teachings of a specific religion and government law. When schools in Kansas are forced to teach classes on "intelligent" design and certain senators want the 10 commandments in the classroom then we will see that learning from science and wisdom are slowly dying.
I try not to pass judgement on these people, because they all subscribe to their religion and this appears to be the control that they want. But if we do not want this for our lives and our country, we need to be very clear about it before it is too late.
