As an atheist, what is most important to me is a change in blind faith to acceptance of reason.
Christians eat pork, though the Bible says not to.
Christians eat catfish, though it is forbidden.
Homosexuals are not stoned, though it is required by the Bible.
But to condem all physical sciences because the calculated age of the earth is somehow 6,000 years is dangerous.
For the United States to be at war as the Christian thing to do is dangerous.
For our population to put the Bible ahead of technical expertise is a sure road to oblivion.
To believe all Truth can be found in the Bible can indeed be comforting. It just isn't so.
Ben Rauch
