Isn't it real annoying that Iran is actually following the NPT treaty, and the U.S. and Israel (who didn't even sign...) is not ? Nuclear powers are supposed to be actively working towards getting rid of all their nuclear weapons: do Americans think the world just said, OK you guys can have these weapons, we never will ? Iran has lots of uranium ore, and a declining oil reserve. They currently burn oil and natural gas to make electricity, but would prefer to use their uranium for electricity and export more fossil fuels.
The only 'defiance' is the West thinks they MIGHT one day make nuclear weapons, once they are proficient enough in the legal, nuclear power industry. You know, the sneaky way Israel, India and Pakistan developed nuclear weapons.
So, the West is basically saying, "screw you, we just don't like you."
Iran has yet to break any international law. The same can't be said about the U.S. and England.
