Gene Fowler did write a book which started out in life as a biography of Sadakichi Hartmann. It was called 'Minutes of the Last Meeting' and related anecdotes of the 'doings' of John Dekker (sp?), John Barrymore, W. C. Fields and Hartmann, himself.
I found this article because I was searching for references to that book. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of it, I would be extremely grateful.
