An Idaho Mayor Withdraws From Bloomberg's Gun Group

Two comments on the article:

1.) Andrew Arulanandam of the NRA was quoted as saying, "Upon rudimentary analysis you'll find that the true intent of the Bloomberg effort is not to reduce crime but rather to enact gun control among law-abiding Americans," he said. Arulanandam misspoke. He should have said, "gun control against law-abiding Americans", not "gun control among law-abiding Americans", unless it was the writer of the article "editing" his words for the sake of political correctness.

2.) The last paragraph about the "straw man" sales does not mention that such sales have been FEDERAL FELONIES since 1968. Bloomberg didn't do anything new, except that BATFE has said that his actions have endangered several investigations and the lives of several agents. Mayor Bloomberg is the one who should be under investigation for obstructing justice by interfering with these cases. In addition, the Federally licensed dealers who have "settled" with Bloomberg have done so to avoid the financial drain that retaining a lawyer for months or years would cost them to fight these scirrilous charges to what would likely be a successful conclusion, not because they did anything wrong. If they had, they'd be out of business and in Federal prison.

Bloomberg is a gun-hating freedom thief. There's nothing a crook can do with a gun that isn't already illegal. Any new laws only serve to further restrict the RIGHTS law-abiding Americans.

While I understant Mayor Fuhriman's desire to improve the safety and quality of life of the citizens of Idaho Falls, I find it difficult to understand the fact that he didn't recognize the danger Bloomberg's gun-hating mayoral task force poses to the liberty of his citizens, which liberty he is sworn to defend. Was he so overwhelmed by his duties that he didn't have time to research this issue before he signed on with Bloomberg, or was he warm to Bloomberg's ideas before his electorate reminded him who he works for? The citizens of Idaho Falls will have to decide that at the next election.

Regards from Arizona.
