Robert Moses's Vision of New York

Submitted by Aaron R. Pulhamus, Jan 19, 2007 09:26

Bob Moses did not tread lightly in his efforts to redo the face of New York City. Any number of good people were hurt and their careers cut short because they questioned his judgment. Attributing the "rebirth" of New York City to the actions of Moses is a bit of a stretch. Encircling the city with highways not only displaced thousands of people but created an excuse for more auto traffic to enter the city. Moses did what HE felt was best for the city. He got things done HIS way. A man of tremendous accomplishment who was overtaken by his hubris.
