I shouldn't have to string together your comments from other articles to understand your point. A good article stands on its own. Your points are very clear.
"To my knowledge, no known cures have been attributed to embryonic stem cell research."
My comment is that ESC treats the symptom, not the cause. So people who talk about cures from ESC, or indeed most other treatments are mistaken. That's why there is a difference between treatments and cures. Those that talk about affecting the immune system or genetic engineering will actually find cures and preventions. However, ESC has the best potential to provide the most useful long term treatment. The spice treatment is nothing more than a scientific finding with very limited potential that is not even as good as the current treatment of insulin injections. That should be obvious to people who know anything about diabetes.
"All those Dr. Frankenstein wannabes…"
This is appears to be one of the embryo-hugging analogies used by most anti-ESC neophytes. Even though the idea that life begins at conception is fraught with inconsistencies from both a scientific and religious standpoint, everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they realize that it is only an opinion and not fact. The analogy itself is silly. Frankenstein was fictional and created an entire being from spare body parts of the dead. If the ESC researchers fit the analogy, then embryos are in fact dead and they are creating life from them. Therefore those that use the analogy are a little daft.
