I am 17 year old Puerto Rican who feels there is more racism than justice in the entire US. I feel that what Commissioner Kelly has said "We know that the shooting was not motivated by racism because we know that the officer who fired first was black" has nothing to do with it. I believe that the NYPD work together. And even some blacks who lose heart when they join the force lose all concept of justice. The just "want to do their job". Which is most likely whatever they are sent to do. But why is it when it is about a black man so much is being done, some black criminals don't even get to jail, they die before they even hit the hospitals they are being sent to. It is unfair to me. I disagree with Commissioner Kelly for those reasons. Some black do forget where they come from and that's why we have so many problems. Some black men and women are so easily brainwashed into this White on Black war that it's difficult to classify if it is racism. And why? Because, who would think that a black man would actually shoot a black man because of racism? Exactly, not a lot of people. But I personally don't fit into that. Because a lot of black people feel the white are so powerful that when the black ascends in their position they start to feel like white people, which is when they start feeling different towards us who are in a "lower" category. I seriously hope that when this investigation is done, none of the above is proven to be the case. I would hate to be right. I hope that this isn't about racism, because what kind of security do we have if our skin tone is any other than white? There are a lot of things left unsaid after every investigation that people don't find out until years later. And I feel if there is nothing to hide, there should be nothing ocult. We have the right to know everything there is to know. I would appreciate it if our government would stop denying and lying right along with hiding. It would be great to feel that our government understands our problems, not only the physical but the emotional. It is not only unfair that our government has favoritism with color but it scary to know that you're more likely to be dead somewhere if your black and not white. I will keep myself posted with this story, I am eager to find out the outcome. One day, someone will put an end to all this. Thank you for reading.
