I am an evangelical Christian, and so I believe the Bible. In that light, I think that most of what you say will come true. Iran will certainly do all that you said and will intend to annihilate Israel. They will fire their missiles, and the world will stand quietly by for the most part. But if the Scriptures are true then Israel will not be annihilated. It will certainly suffer atrocities again, as indicated in Revelation, but it will not be eradicated by Iranian nukes. If, on the other hand, by hook or by crook, you end up entirely right, then I and many others will be hard pressed to justify why it is that we maintain the Christian faith. To be sure, some may allegorize Revelation, or in some other way transform it into nothing more than a story. To those of us who believe it is history foretold, however, the destruction of Israel presents a serious theological problem, especially when you add in the strongly held belief of the inerrancy of Scripture. At best it would force a call for a new paradigm and a new interpretation of many parts of Scripture, and at worst it would throw the entire Christological system into chaos. After all, how can you believe a God who cannot even protect His 'chosen people' from being annihilated, the very people that are the centerpiece and crowning jewel to His work among humanity? Personally, I think reason and a good dose of self-preservation would compel me to become a Muslim in that case; however, at this time I retain my Christian beliefs.
