McCain Sees the Light

From reports I hear, free speech and protection for the First Amendment are still needed. I hear reports about a "fairness doctine" that would regulate media talk shows. While I am not a big fan of most of them, should the free market decide what people wish to hear?

I hear reports that kids, reporters, politicians, etc., can not speak about God at public or government functions. When did it become illegal to express one's personal beliefs when asked by an institution to speak on one's own views? I understand that some may not believe in a God, but what of those of us that don't believe in universal health care. Should we have to listen to Mitt Romney or Hilliary Clinton speak of such things?

How about blog sites? When will they become offensive and need to be regulated? And when do you regulate them?

No, it seems politicians are willing to restrict free speech when their own messages are easily combated in the court of public opinion. Perhaps my examples are of extremes. But if we allow our freedoms to be whittled away, I fear some day we will awaken to find we've lost what should be most precious to us.

Kudo's to those that voted for freedom. We should expect nothing less.
