It doesn't matter what McCain does now. It's quite obvious that he is unacceptable as a presidential candidate for the Republican Party nomination in 2008. His attack on free speech, as illustrated by the McCain/Finegold bill, and his support for amnesty for millions of illegals ends his viability as a candidate who can secure the nomination. His major support comes from Democrats, the liberal media, and fringe elements of the Republican Party.
