This piece is alarming, to say the least. But I would caution that we do not know and can not know what will happen. If we assume the worst about Iran and only the worst about Iran, there will be no negotiations. There will only be war.
I am greatly disturbed by what has been written here. To say that there is no possibility of negotiation with Iran assumes that Iran, as it now appears, is the way Iran will always be. That forces for change in Iran will not rise up and destabilize the leadership and remove the Mullahs and Ahmadijenad from power. We do not know what will happen and to already be prepared to accept the worst is to essentially give up and say war is certain.
If we believe war is certain then it will come and we will all be partially responsible.
And as to anyone who believes that the destruction of Israel is preordained I defy you to prove that. Don't you see that if you assume the same type of certainty, the same level of fanaticism as the Mullahs you condemn then you are no different? If you council preemptive war on the merely possibility of a future that cannot be known you are no different than extremists who would council war against Israel.
