I'm glad that the President is at least adressing energy independance. He states that the nation should cut gasoline consumption by at least 20% in 10 years. What about the President's immigration policies? Is there any doubt that the population of the United States is going to increase by 20% in 10 years? If so, will this not negate any energy conservation efforts? I have not heard thus far any presidential candidate talking about mantaining, or even reducing our population over the coming years. If we allow our population to increase by 60 million over the next 10 to 20 years (all driving cars one presumes) Is there any doubt that The US will continue to be an energy importer? As long as our population continues to spiral out of control, America will be dependant on foriegn oil
