CIA Staffer Says He Warned Cheney, Libby of Leak's Danger

Only in the U.S. of A. could someone make the kind of statementthat Craig Schmall made in court and not be laughed out of the country. Everyone in the world (Americans excepted) knows that the CIA operates out of embassies throughout the world--why do you think that our embassies are always the first things to get blown up? Most countries object to CIA interference in their homelands--and that's exactly what the CIA does day-in, and day-out. So the fact is that any wife, of any ambassador would, without exception, be considered a 'possible' CIA agent (Did you know that lots of ambassadors work for the CIA?). And Schmall, better than anyone else, KNOWS this. He's lying through his teeth. My question to all of you is this: why is he lying? And the related question: who is lying for?

Here we have a situation in which the man who leaked this information to reporters--Armitage--goes off Scott-free, while Libby is hung-out to dry, while the very attorneys who drafted the legislation upon which all of this commotion is based say that the law which was enacted was not violated. Why is this going on? And don't be fooled into thinking its politics. Would you lie under oath for simply political purposes?
