People forget why the issue of "Weapons of Mass Destruction" in the run-up to the Iraq invasion was so important. If Saddam Hussein had no significant amounts of them and/or any effective delivery systems and/or any demonstrable intent to employ them imminently against the US or some other country, then that invasion was a violation of international law. But Bush cut short the UN-sponsored inspections (which had turned up no "WMD", because there were none) and invaded without Security Council authorization. Therefore, the invasion of Iraq (unlike that of Afghanistan) was not a war to defend against an imminent threat, it was a war of aggression, and under the Nuremberg Principles that constitutes, "the supreme international crime from which all other war crimes follow". George W. Bush is, therefore culpable for the "supreme international crime" and should be impeached and jailed for life.
