Bush Stands By Cheney, Rumsfeld

Forcing Rumsfeld to resign would be pointless, and is a prime example of the reason Democrats keep losing: They misfocus. The problem is not just Rummy, but a noe-con philosophy that is unworkable, politically unsophisticated, intellectually pretensious, and thus fundamentally flawed. That philosophy, which would essentially make us the world's benevolent dictator, is shared by the neo-cons in this administration - including Cheney, Rummy, Wolfowitz (now at the World Bank), Rove, Libby, and others such as Perle and Adelman who have been top-level advisors. They are the voices that the malleable Bushwhacker hears, and which produce the insane policy that informs our moves internationally. To correct this nation's course, the whole lot of them would have to be removed and replaced by sensible people. This should be the message of the Democrats, not a particular personality.
