Governor Spitzer Is Seeking To Block Ban on Foie Gras
in response to reader comment: animal treatment

How could you possibly imply that people against foie gras are not also against the factory farms that abuse cows, chickens, pigs, and sealife (pigs and fish, which you completely neglected to mention, by the way)? The issue at hand, genius, is foie gras. Are you saying that if we can't abolish all of animal farming we should just do nothing? Get real. A complete abolishment of animal farming is never going to happen in one quick sweep. We need to do what we can, when we can, and here is an opportunity to put an end to one small piece of this cruel, unnecessary industry. The more we chip away at the industry when the opportunities arise, the easier it will be to eventually abolish ALL animal farming. I'd like to know what you propose. I can guarantee that any sweeping approach you bring to the table will not be as effective as fighting the smaller battles as they come up.
