Baby Shot and Injured in Brooklyn

By Staff Reporter of the Sun | April 2, 2008

A 2-year-old baby was shot and injured after a gun was fired inside an apartment in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn early yesterday morning, police officials said.

The baby, a girl, was in serious but stable condition after being treated at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center for a gunshot wound in her shoulder, police said.

No arrests had been made as of yesterday evening, although a police source said investigators were speaking with a relative of the baby about the shooting.

The source said investigators were examining whether the gun might have been fired accidentally as it was being cleaned.
