Bronx Soldier Killed in Iraq

The Department of Defense yesterday announced the death of a Bronx soldier who was stationed in Amerli, Iraq. Pvt. Issac Cortes, 26, was killed when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.
