A bill to revamp the city's campaign finance system, which has incurred some opposition because it does not restrict donations from unions, will be debated today at a hearing at City Hall.
Representatives from good government groups, the Bloomberg administration, and the New York City Campaign Finance Board are expected to testify before the City Council's governmental operations committee.
The legislation would ban donations from businesses in the city and would cap campaign contributions from lobbyists and entities with at least $100,000 worth of business before the city.
