Deadline To Sign Behavior Agreement Looming for Plummer

A City Council aide who is suing Speaker Christine Quinn for $1 million has until 5 p.m. today to sign a revised behavior agreement with the city or lose her job. Ms. Quinn suspended the aide, Viola Plummer, for six weeks without pay last week, saying she could only return to work if she behaved better in the future. Plummer refused to sign the agreement and sought an immediate injunction in federal court. She was suspended after vowing to end the political career of a council member, even if it took "an assassination."

She is suing Ms. Quinn for suspending her and for inflicting mental anguish and emotional distress, the complaint says. A U.S. District Court Judge, William Pauley is expected to set a trial date during a hearing today, Plummer's lawyer, Roger Wareham, said.
