Doorman Lawsuit Seeks $2 Million for Humiliation
A Midtown doorman is suing a couple and a building management firm for $2 million, alleging they humiliated him by wrongly accusing him of stealing a Christmas bonus intended for another domestic employee.
The doorman, Viorel Cincu, was fired from his job at the Sutton House on East 52nd Street after the couple, Stephanie and Ralph Asadorian, made the accusation in a letter to building management, according to the lawsuit filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan.
"He's a decent chap," Mr. Cincu's lawyer, Douglas Rosenthal, said. "This guy was on the job for 17 years before this happened."
Neither the agency managing the building, Douglas Elliman Property Management, nor the Asadorians returned phone calls seeking comment yesterday.
