Ferry Crash Widow To Receive $1.375M
A woman who lost her husband in the 2003 Staten Island Ferry crash has settled her wrongful death lawsuit against New York City.
Louis Robinson was one of 11 people killed when the ferry Andrew J. Barberi crashed into a pier near the Staten Island terminal on October 15, 2003.
His widow, Osserritta Robinson, will receive $1.375 million.
A lawyer at the city's Law Department, Ken Sasmor, says: "We continue to share our condolences with the Robinson family and hope this settlement brings a measure of closure to them."
The case was brought in Brooklyn federal court.
