In Manhattan, Police Search for Armed Robber

By Special to the Sun | April 6, 2007

Police are searching for clues in the investigation of a suspect who is robbing retail stores and restaurants around Manhattan, police officials said. The suspect, Detroit Wright, 35, has held-up eight businesses at gunpoint in the past month and a half, police said. Mr. Wright has knocked-off stores throughout Manhattan, including L'Occitane, a vendor of high-end beauty products, and Sacco Shoes in Gramercy Park, police said. In each case, Mr. Wright pretends to be a customer, approaches the register, then pulls out a gun and demands money from the teller.
