Jewish Groups Offer Reward For Information

Several prominent Jewish groups are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of those responsible for as many as 19 anti-Semitic markings discovered in Brooklyn Heights this week.

Swastikas were found spraypainted on two synagogues, on private homes, and derogatory statements were written on leaflets left under the windshields of cars.

In a joint statement, the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation

League, and the Jewish Community Relations Council praised the police response to the vandalism, which was being investigated by the hate crimes unit and 20 extra investigators.

"The appearance of swastikas and vile anti-Semitic slogans at more than 20 locations in Brooklyn Heights sends a chill down the spine of New York's Jewish community and all New Yorkers," the statement said.
